Monterey County Climate Action Coalition organizing meeting

  • Google Calendar ICS

Join the work of the new Monterey County Climate Action Coalition. In June, community stakeholders across organizational lines brainstormed how we can build solidarity and strategize about keeping sustained pressure on Monterey County leadership to finalize and implement a Community Climate Action and Adaption Plan (CCAAP). David Prina and Kat Morgan are our volunteer organizers who streamline communications for all the various members of the Monterey County Climate Action Coalition. If you want to be added to the Monterey County Climate Action Coalition email distribution list, please send an email to David Prina.

To chapter members who are key leaders/organizers in other allied groups or organizations, we encourage your group to join this climate coalition.

Here is a link to access the CCAAP through the Monterey County website for your own homework: Community Climate Action Plan & Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan (REF120045), LRPWP Task No. 14 | County of Monterey, CA.

This year's theme, "Planet vs. Plastic," is a call to action to increase awareness of the health risks of plastic and advocate for a reduction in plastic pollution. With the ongoing climate crisis, we also recognize the value of continuing to inform residents about its effects on our community and how to adapt to the changing conditions.
